Due to the Corona Pandemic Chicago Public Schools are Seeking More Devices to Bridge Digital Divide During Remote Learning



EDUCATION

Chicago Public Schools announced that it is trying to get more than 100,000 computers into the hands of students during the school shutdown. CPS estimates 115,000 students need computers for e-learning as it tries to close ‘unacceptable digital divide’.


HEALTH COVID-19 requires that Telehealth Programs Expand to Chicago south and west side neighborhoods. New statewide totals:50,35529 cases, 2,215 deaths


BUSINESS

COVID-19 has caused many small businesses to close and may never reopen.





Because the demand for our services is greater than our resources, we are desperately in need of funding to supply 100 families with laptop computers and hotspots



Urban Tech Academy (UTA) is a charitable, educational and civic organization created to provide IT skill development in underserved communities; by providing “education to careers” opportunities for youth and adults. The program is implemented in cohorts of 10 to 30 students at various locations serving students from communities like Englewood, Gage Park, Auburn Gresham, Chatham, Grand Crossing, Austin, Humboldt Park, Pilsen and Little Village.



Money is needed to pay professional staff (college students), professional development/training, and general operating expenses for serving the needs of our community during a time of crisis. Unfortunately, our expenses have exceeded our revenue to support the 100 families.

  4. Telemedicine resources for our seniors needing online medical assistance
  5. Small business coaching with resources and support during pandemic
  6. Resources for family counseling and social emotional services
